Lamps can be custom labeled by the user with a plastic insert. The insert can be a custom legend with text and/or graphics, and slips into a protective pocket behind the faceplate.
The OM1124 Annunciator/Lamp Panel is part of Optimation's OptiMateŽ series. Each OptiMateŽ module is designed to connect to a microprocessor or most PLC's with a single cable connection. OptiMateŽ modules can be used individually or together with any combination of other OptiMateŽ modules.
When used with a microprocessor system, simple communications over either an RS232 or RS422 communications cable allows the microprocessor to directly control each lamp.
When used with a PLC, operation is transparent to the user. All the user must do to totally control lamp operation is write the required lamp states to PLC registers or turn on ladder logic coils. The OM1124 takes care of the rest.

Rapid future expansion
Reduced maintenance costs
Attractive, eye- appealing appearance
Direct Connect to PLCs
OptiMateŽ modules connect and operate
directly with most major PLCs. A simple cable connection allows the
PLC to control each lamp directly simply by setting bits in data registers.
Everything else is totally transparent.
PLC Multi Modules
The OptiMateŽ series provides the means to construct large custom panels with standard building block modules. OptiMateŽ modules can be grouped together or separated by up to 4000 feet. Any combination of operator panels and I/O can be incorporated into a system.
Microprocessor-Based Systems
OptiMateŽ modules connect to any computer or microprocessor- based system through a serial link. Either RS232 or RS422 communications can be employed. The microprocessor controller simply polls for module data or sends module commands to completely control the operator panels and IO.
Legending the Lamps
Legending the OM1124 module involves simply sliding a legend transparency behind the module overlay. The bezel can be removed from the front of the module. Once this is done, a legend transparency can be placed behind the overlay.
A legend transparency can be created by a number of methods. Computer graphics programs combined with overhead transparency paper and a laser printer and/or copier produce excellent results. Other options are listed in the OM1124 data sheet.
